Public Finance Associate

Profile

Ice Miller is seeking an attorney with 3 years’ experience as a lawyer to join our Public Finance practice group in Columbus. The candidate must have prior transactional experience, but prior public finance experience is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, strong written and oral communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and be able to handle multiple matters at one time.
In this position you will: Join one of the most well-established and experienced public finance groups in the mid-west
Provide legal support for partners in all roles relevant to public finance including bond, underwriter's, and disclosure counsel, with a primary focus on tax-exempt bond financings for nonprofit organizations
Work primarily with educational and healthcare institutions, recreational and cultural facilities, and other public institutions on a wide variety of public finance transactions
Receive training opportunities with growing levels of responsibility
Collaborate across practice groups and across offices
The ideal candidate will: Have mid-level associate transactional experience; experience in public finance is a plus
Be extremely organized with the ability to handle a high volume of deals
Demonstrate a keen attention to detail
Be highly motivated and a self-starter
Be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Have experience and comfort with technology
Excel in a team environment
Demonstrate a keen interest in developing and implementing relationship-building skills both internally and externally
Have prior experiences that prepare them to work with attorneys, staff and clients from cultures and backgrounds different from their own
Have excellent credentials and references
