Public Finance Associate

Profile

Ice Miller is seeking an associate to join our Public Finance practice group in Indianapolis. Attorneys with at least two years of transactional experience and an interest in public finance are preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, sound judgment, a keen attention to detail, and be able to handle multiple matters at one time.
In this position you will: Join one of the most well-established and experienced public finance teams in the mid-west
Learn from true experts who have worked with virtually every Indiana school corporation as bond counsel
Provide legal support for partners in all roles relevant to public finance including bond, underwriter's and disclosure counsel, with a primary focus on tax-exempt bond financings for K-12 schools and public libraries
Establish trusted relationships with school corporations and public libraries
Receive training opportunities with growing levels of responsibility
The ideal candidate will: Have mid-level associate transactional experience; experience in municipal finance is a plus, but not necessary
Be extremely organized with the ability to handle a high volume of deals
Demonstrate a keen attention to detail
Excel in a team environment
Be highly motivated and a self-starter
Be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Demonstrate a keen interest in developing and implementing relationship-building skills both internally and externally
Have prior experiences that prepare them to work with attorneys, staff and clients from cultures and backgrounds different from their own
Have excellent written and oral communication skills, law school credentials and references
