Profile

Our client a major asset managment company seeks a Senior Project Manager with an Agile background. The purpose of this role is to provide effective management of Technology-related projects supporting a variety of businesses including Investments, Sales, Marketing, Transfer Agency, Digital Strategy, Infrastructure or other Shared Services departments. We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of technology and a demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. We seek someone who can easily bridge the divide between business knowledge and technical knowledge. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent logic and problem solving skills and consistently display a drive to make a difference.
Responsibilities:
·
Working with the project sponsors to ensure that there is a well-defined business case, outlining business value and cost benefit analysis.
·
Assisting with preparing estimates of budget and resource requirements for key projects by partnering with business stakeholders, technology managers and teams to understand the scope, effort, deliverables and timelines.
·
Identifying and negotiating schedules, project dependencies, milestones and obtaining the resources (internal and external) required to meet project objectives.
·
Maintaining the project plan / implementation roadmap to reflect project interim progress.
·
Communicating project status, issues and risks to business and technology executive stakeholders.
·
Analyzing risks and proposing mitigation approaches accordingly, including establishing contingency plans.
·
Tracking issues and proactively identifying solutions to address them, escalating when necessary.
·
Assuring that project priorities are clearly communicated and understood by the entire project team.
·
Facilitating the clarification and communication of project requirements and objectives.
·
Establishing and maintaining strong business and technology relationships across the company to continuously meet or exceed business and technology needs.
·
Fostering collaboration and communication across project team.
Position Requirements:
·
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science or a related discipline.
·
8 years of experience as a program manager, project manager or Scrum Master leading projects.
·
Excellent knowledge of how to lead programs and/or projects including management of the estimated vs. actual variance for cost, timeline and effort (hours); issue and risk management, the identification and use of leading indicators of project issues; and the ability to work directly with team members to understand the potential impacts of variances or impediments to the overall schedule, hours, scope and cost.
·
Demonstrated ability to manage programs and/or simultaneous projects supporting multiple business groups from conception through successful implementation in a cross-functional environment.
·
Demonstrated ability to complete a Project Impact Analysis; understanding the relationships between risks, issues, plan dependencies, and the potential impacts of completing tasks early or late.
·
Demonstrated ability to assess project health using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques.
·
Demonstrated experience with project management software, either MS Project or Project Workbench.
·
Experience with Clarity, or similar project portfolio management system preferred.
·
Experienced in Agile project delivery methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean).
·
Be a team-player with the ability to work within a collaborative environment.
·
Experience with vendor management and implementing vendor solutions is a plus.
·
Big 5 Consulting Experience is a plus.
·
CSM Certification is a plus.
·
PMP or CSP Certification or equivalent is a plus.
Business Skills:
·
Experience working in a consulting organization servicing asset management industry clients or directly in a technology organization supporting a Mutual Fund or Asset Management organization is desired
·
Broad business understanding of the Asset Management industry, mutual funds products, Transfer Agency and/or other middle and back office Financial Services operations is desirable
