Description

The Senior Financial Analyst for Humana's Direct Contracting Entity, Humana Care Solutions, supports successful value-based provider relationships with a focus on financial outcomes and operational effectiveness. The Senior Financial Analyst works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. Assignments often require interpretation and independent determination of courses of action.

Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst works closely with the Finance Lead to strategize, plan, develop, and maintain the financial reporting and analytic needs of the organization including but not limited to budget and Long Term Planning, monthly financial close, variance analysis and drivers, and strategic adhoc analysis that guides the growth and trajectory of Humana Direct Contracting.

Fully utilizes CMS and internal data by developing analytical tools to show current trends, opportunities, and explain financial results, including but not limited to data on membership, premium, claims, and admin

Designs and builds business/financial models to meet decision making needs

Partners with IT to standardize and automate reports

Analyzes CMS reports & Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) data to support the monthly close and payments to providers

Supports the team in the preparation and review of annual plans and budgets

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

3 years of finance experience

2 years of experience analyzing healthcare or similar data

Advanced Excel skills (look-up functions, pivot tables, arrays, data connections)

Beginning to intermediate knowledge of SQL

Working knowledge of GAAP

Ability to work in a 'start-up-like' environment and help define and develop processes to support the business

Preferred Qualifications

Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or related field

Familiar with healthcare capitation and risk-based contracting

Experience analyzing healthcare membership, premium, and claims data

Additional Information

For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated, including booster or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work.
