Who we are looking for:

ASCO is in search of a high performing Corporate and Contracts Paralegal to join our Center for Integrity and Law within the Office of the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will perform paralegal functions, support a team of legal, contracting, governance, and compliance professionals, and participate in team projects and initiatives.

What you will do:

  • Prepare contracts and amendments from established templates under the supervision of legal team
  • Serve as primary contact for the legal team’s contracting function, including advising clients on templates and contracting policy and procedures, and liaising with IT concerning support issues regarding contracting database
  • Assist with facilitating signatures on contracts approved by legal team through e-sign software
  • Research legal, governance, and compliance matters and monitor relevant legislative or regulatory activity, including performing Westlaw and other database searches, and draft related memos, reports, and articles
  • Assume and carry out responsibility for timely preparation, submission, tracking, and filing of regulatory filings and legal notices, working closely with other departments and affiliates, external agencies, and vendors
  • Establish, use, maintain, and improve corporate, legal, compliance and policy files, reports, databases, postings, and procedures, and support administrative functions
  • Assist in administration and implementation of corporate policies and procedures and maintain corporate policy database
  • Coordinate document production and filing for litigation
  • Monitor certain e-mail accounts and provide timely responses to inquiries and communications
  • Support team of attorneys and governance staff on a variety of legal, governance, and compliance matters

What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field; and having Paralegal certifications is a plus
  • At least 4-5 years of related experience as a paralegal including law firm experience being a plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Advanced technology aptitude and demonstrated mastery of applications and databases including contracting systems
  • Clear, concise, persuasive, and effective communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening
  • Professional demeanor and presence including the ability to handle confidential information
  • Experience with corporate matters, including drafting and reviewing transactional documents
  • Solid research and investigative skills
  • Multitask-oriented, self-managed with proven skills to use initiative, time management, and organizational skills to prioritize work to deliver results
  • Attention to detail, issue-spotting, and logistic complexities
