Description
M&A and Restructuring Services (MARS) is a Strategic Growth Offering (SGO) that spans all four of Deloitte's functional businesses. The National MARS team supports the cross-functional MARS leadership team by leading and executing projects and initiatives that support our strategy and growth ambition. We play a key role in providing connectivity and building engagement across our complex, multifaceted practice.

We're looking for a sharp analytical thinker who is comfortable creating structure to meet objectives in an environment that can occasionally be ambiguous. The Strategy Development Senior Manager (SM) will have the ability to multi-task and deliver on several projects in a fast-paced, high-visibility setting.
Responsibilities
The SM has a critical role as a member of the National MARS leadership team, with significant responsibilities in developing the strategy, executing critical projects, defining growth goals, leading strategic initiatives, and working across the functions on go-to-market collaboration. The SM advises and supports financial operations, talent programs, tracking marketplace penetration, overseeing junior staff in US and India, and promoting effective and efficient management of the practice in conjunction with MARS Executive Leadership.
Key areas of focus include:
Strategy & Planning
Regularly partner with and counsel MARS leaders on matters concerning cross-FSS initiatives
Frame, manage and execute go-to-market and internal initiatives in support of cross-functional MARS strategy, both ongoing and special projects
Collaborate with the Deloitte US Private Equity office to identify and implement strategic efforts to enhance how we serve Private Equity Investment firms (PEI) and Portfolio Companies (PC) clients
Solve complex issues requiring strategic expertise, in-depth knowledge of MARS & Firm objectives, and a thorough understanding of current market trends and industry practices
Financial Operations
Team with Finance to augment revenue/sales tracking and direct analyses to evaluate marketplace trends and opportunities
Oversee the development of models and research to address business questions
Guide the implementation of innovative solutions for financial tracking, client tagging, report generation, etc.
Conduct ad-hoc analyses of financial performance, direct data requests, and serve as the first line of defense for financial revenue inquiries
Clients and Pursuits
Work with industry and business leaders to assess our mega-deal pursuit activity and go-to-market collaboration
Lead the process to track MARS market presence and provide intel for pursuit quals
Provide oversight and management of junior staff for MARS client classification methodology
National Team Operations
Lead the USI National MARS team in India remotely:
Provide ongoing coaching and oversight of USI team members
Work with USI team leads to ensure professional development and growth
Lead the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of USI staff
Support development and maintenance of role profiles for National MARS team and participate in interviews and onboarding for junior staff
Lead the preparation of meeting agendas and materials for various leadership and practice meetings
Develop messaging and coordinate across the functions for tiered delivery of core communications
Lead members of MARS extended support teams on various strategic initiatives
Provide input and review of major reports and deliverables such as the annual Year-end Report
Serve as a point of contact for the practice, responding to requests and directing practitioners to appropriate resources
Qualifications
8 years of related experience
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (PPT storyboarding, Excel formulas and pivot tables, Teams collaboration); data visualization experience
Flexible mindset and desire to participate in varied projects from analytical to strategic
Bachelor's degree with concentration in finance, management, or related business field
Flexible work style with limited travel (up to 5%-10%)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Client service experience at manager or senior manager level
Knowledge of M&A and Restructuring lifecycle and market trends
Unyielding focus on producing quality results (analyses and deliverables) while meeting required deadlines
Superior portfolio and project management skills with advanced written and verbal communication skills
Executive presence and ability to interact and interface with all levels within the firm, including leadership
Team player with a customer focus mentality
Successful at leading in an unstructured environment, managing ambiguity, and effecting change by influence
Ability to think big picture and connect dots to translate big ideas into planning and execution, while also diving into details when needed
Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders
Ability to understand and navigate Deloitte's Firm initiatives and systems

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $124,600 to $255,900
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
