Finance Management Jobs
A finance management job involves tracking and controlling of all the financial resources and transactions of an organization. Finance management is generally practiced by those who have significant experience in the field of finance.
Typical duties for finance management positions include reviewing, preparing and leading annual budget, financial statements, and periodic forecasts; performing variance analysis and account reconciliations; mentoring or coordinating with financial analysts, research analysts, and accounting personnel; developing dynamic financial models and driving strategic analyses; and training and mentoring team members. Depending on the firm type and firm size, finance managers usually report to a finance director, senior manager, executive director of accounting, or chief financial officer,
Finance management jobs require a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. A CPA, CFA, MBA or similar qualification may be advantageous. Familiarity with GAAP, SEC reporting, international finance, foreign exchange, international stock trading, foreign investments, and/or SOX requirements is required at many companies. Strong knowledge of mergers and acquisitions and due diligence projects may also be essential for some positions.
