Pasadena, CA — The weakening economy has been hard on the finance job market, but there is some good news for finance professionals. BankingandFinanceCrossing (www.bankingandfinancecrossing.com) recently reported a slow improvement in the job market for finance professionals. The banking and finance job board has seen a rise in demand for finance professionals in recent weeks, with the site’s total job count now standing at 42,000.
''We have seen more and more employers posting finance jobs on our site,'' says Harrison Barnes, CEO of BankingandFinanceCrossing. ''Some of them are even paying more than the market rate, especially those with managerial openings.''
Backing this finding is a survey by the outplacement consultancy firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc. The survey reports that the financial sector saw just over 2,000 job cuts in August compared to over 15,000 in July and more than 35,000 in August of 2007. In fact, the August cuts were the lowest number of job cuts since July of 2007, when the finance industry was just beginning to feel the effects of the mortgage crisis.
''Although the financial services industry remained the biggest job cutter this year — with over 100,000 in layoffs — this is the least is has lost in months. The industry might actually be stabilizing,'' adds Barnes.
Another survey by recruiter Ajilon Finance and the Institute of Management Accountants found that 65% of the accounting and finance professionals polled think that there are currently more, or just as many, job opportunities available as there were a year ago.
''There are thousands of finance job opportunities, if one knows where to look. BankingandFinanceCrossing is helping finance professionals in locating all the hidden openings,'' says Barnes.
According to Barnes, the most searched job titles on BankingandFinanceCrossing in the last few weeks have been:
Banking analyst jobs (7,048)
Finance manager jobs (5,897)
Banking jobs (4,868)
Finance jobs (3,669)
Mortgage banking jobs (1,433)
Investment banking jobs (1,189)
Finance director jobs (1,068)
''The present job market is a tricky one, and various professionals are having trouble in the current economic scenario. BankingandFinanceCrossing monitors all employer websites (over 250,000) and other resources to post jobs that are not mentioned on any other job board,'' adds Barnes.

I was very happy with the results I found for current job listings in my area. This is a great website to use for up-to-date job postings. I also wanted to comment on MoneyCrossing's customer service. I had some questions, and called in for some technical help. I was very surprised at the way these people handled themselves. Very professional and friendly. I will use this site again for any upcoming employment needs.
