Junior Java Developer in Finance (1-3 years, 80-100k Base Bonus)
SUMMARY:
Top Investment bank is looking for an analyst developer passionate about computer science to build business critical applications that ensure accurate data reporting and analytics for internal and external users. Major initiatives for the year include rollout of new Capital Calculations, development of a strategic capital platform across risk and front office, as well as gross Market Balance Sheet, Capital, and Entity Reporting Rollouts.
RESPONSIBIITIES:
Responsible for the full life cycle development of new features in a large financial reporting platform. Will work with the end users to gather requirements to design/develop/implement/document solutions as well as provide technical support for the application. Development will be focused in java, also working with globally distributed Sybase ASE databases. Will be working in a global, agile development environment with continuous integration and unit and acceptance test coverage. Strong problem solving & analytical skills are required.
REQUIREMENTS:
2 years of experience in the following areas:
Programming in Java and relational databases -Project life cycle, including requirement gathering, software development, system testing, production rollout, post implementation support.
Preferred
UNIX / Linux
Experience with Sybase ASE
ORM frameworks
Software development lifecycle proficiency and code management skills -Experience with at least one code repository such as SVN -Working knowledge of Autosys
