The broker may find his/her job on the Internet, through friends, acquaintances, and at social events. Their main job is to build a customer center and this could include repeat customers.

Sometimes the agent is given a list by the firm for which they work. This list may have been prepared by an agent who is now retired. Another list may be given that contains names of people the company had as customers in the past. Referrals are another source of prospective clients. Satisfied clients are another way of getting new business.

Telecommunications

Telecommunications specialist will take care of delivering many types of devices used in this field. The graphics, voice communications, and video are becoming technologically superior to the past methods of sending information. Wireless is taking over for the wired telephone and other communication services. The Internet and satellite is growing by leaps, and bounds.

When it comes to the telecommunications industry 25% of jobs are in installation, repair, and maintenance. Workers ranked as the greatest number in this field are line installers and repair workers. This can entail working indoors or out. The line workers are the ones who have a difficult job. They work outdoors irrespective of the weather and are often required to work on rooftops.

The repair-men and installers jobs are more of working inside the office or home. Both positions require a good working knowledge of electricity and of safety measures.

What are the Educational Requirements for these Workers?

Other than customer service position, the other positions, sales and marketing positions and telecommunications will require a bachelor's degree. Although very few of these employers want their employees to have a specific major, this can be quite beneficial if it is already in place or in the process. Advancing in either of these fields can be somewhat hard to achieve.

Securities and commodities agents should have a degree in accounting, economics, finance, or business. Although it may not be required, more the experience in fields, the better the job outlook is for you. Customer service representatives are not required to have a degree usually. The advancement within the company is usually the way this employee makes it to the customer service department.

How much do these workers earn?

The weekly average of a telecommunications specialist was approximately $963. Sales representatives can make $23.13 per hour and the customer service person is the lowest paid at $15.62 an hour.

Certain customer service representatives may receive only a commission on the services they sell. This is especially true for those working for the telecommunications services. Support for the administrative field covers the following however, this is not a comprehensive list:
